What are Exempt Market investments?
Investment products in the exempt market can be a unique addition to many client portfolios. These products are usually not offered through a prospectus offering and are generally classified as private market investments; however, they can also achieve higher returns relative to their risk profile.
What are examples of Exempt Market investments?
These can range from real estate based investments, energy related investments (including oil and gas), yield or cash-flow producing products, mortgage backed portfolio's and other "private equity" offerings.
How can I invest in Exempt Market investments?
There are only a few required steps in order to invest in these products if you live in Alberta. (If you are a resident of another province/territory, please contact us for a referral to another licensed represesentative in your area).
1. Meet with Glenn Devereaux (your Dealing Representative) either in person, or over the phone.
2. Complete a "Know Your Client" (KYC) form. This helps us better understand your current financial position and helps the Portfolio Managers create a proper asset allocation for your portfolio.
3. Hear about the new investment opportunities currently offered.
4. Complete your subscription agreement for the investment.
5. Client statements (and/or an on-line login for your RRSP, RESP, RRIF, LIRA or TFSA account) will be sent to you so that you can continue to monitor your investment(s).
